Hi! My name is Muna, I'm so happy you're here.
I love to paint digitally and create on canvas with acrylic paint. When I was 4 years old, I experienced something so magical which plays a big role in the art I create.
One night when I was looking up at the sky, a round moon shaped light appeared a few feet above me. A hand with a long sleeve adorned with gems of all kinds was right in the middle of it. The hand stood above me in the form of a blessing then ascended into the sky where it disappeared among the stars. I have always questioned the reason for the visitation and as I sketch daily, I search for the beauty of our blessed Mother Mary as I believe the hand to be hers. My intention of Munastry is to connect you with the divine through my art.

Artist Janet Davoodzadeh, a dedicated Catholic and active parishioner at St. Monica Catholic Church, creates sacred art using acrylic on canvas, sketching with pencil, and digital techniques in Photoshop. Drawing primarily from her imagination, Janet’s mission as a sacred artist is to portray the Blessed Virgin Mary, highlighting her tender beauty as a loving mother and her majesty as Queen of Heaven and Earth.
Muna grew up in Bagdhad, Iraq and moved to the US when she was 15 in the hopes to create a life for herself and her future family. She currently resides in Los Angeles and has a beautiful daughter who has given her the sweetest moments of her life! She hopes you enjoy her art and feel connected to the ever-present love of God.
